The customer acknowledges and agrees that:

  • Delivery fees must be paid in full prior to dispatch.

  • Delivery dates and times are estimates only and may vary due to weather, traffic, or transport conditions.

If delivery cannot be completed due to access issues, unsafe conditions, or the customer not being present, additional fees may apply.

4B. Fitting of Pods

Fitting of the pod to the customer’s vehicle is included with all standard pod purchases unless otherwise stated. Fitting includes securing the pod to the vehicle using our standard installation method.

The customer acknowledges and agrees that:

  • The vehicle must be clean, empty, and accessible for fitting.

  • The customer is responsible for ensuring their vehicle is suitable for fitting and free from defects that may affect installation (including rust, leaks, structural weakness, or misalignment).

  • Fitting does not include structural modifications, mechanical work, or custom adjustments unless agreed in writing.

  • Risk and responsibility for the pod transfer to the customer once fitting is completed and accepted.

  • Dirty Wombat Camper Company is not liable for damage caused by pre‑existing vehicle issues or by the customer modifying or removing the pod after fitting.

  • The customer must disclose any known issues with the vehicle that may affect fitting.

DC‑DC Charger Installation

Dirty Wombat Camper Company installs DC‑DC chargers as part of certain pod packages. Installation includes mounting the charger inside the pod, wiring it into the pod’s electrical system, and then making a single standard charging connection to the vehicle once the pod is installed in the vehicle.”

The customer acknowledges and agrees that:

  • DC‑DC charger installation does not include diagnosis, repair, modification, or assessment of the vehicle’s alternator, starter battery, factory wiring, or any aftermarket electrical accessories.

  • The customer is responsible for ensuring their vehicle’s electrical system is in good working order and suitable for a DC‑DC charger.

  • Dirty Wombat Camper Company is not liable for:

    • alternator failure

    • starter battery failure

    • ECU or wiring faults

    • issues caused by pre‑existing electrical problems

    • incompatibility with aftermarket accessories (e.g., dual battery systems, isolators, solar controllers)

  • Any damage caused by incorrect use, overloading, or modification of the DC‑DC charger after installation is not covered under our workmanship warranty.

If fitting cannot be completed due to access issues, unsafe conditions, or vehicle unsuitability, additional fees may apply.

5. Cancellations & Changes

  • Custom work cannot be cancelled once materials have been ordered.

  • Changes requested after work has commenced may incur additional charges and may extend the completion timeline.

  • Provide a clean, empty, roadworthy vehicle

  • Disclose any known issues with the van

  • Ensure the vehicle remains registered and insured

  • Use the camper pod or build in a safe and reasonable manner

6A. Vehicle Insurance Requirement

The customer acknowledges that Dirty Wombat Camper Company holds product and public liability insurance, which covers our workmanship and activities performed in our workshop.

Our insurance does not cover the customer’s vehicle under any circumstances.

The customer is responsible for ensuring their vehicle is:

  • fully insured under their own comprehensive or appropriate policy

  • covered for any loss, theft, fire, or damage while in our possession

  • covered during transport to and from our workshop

Dirty Wombat Camper Company is not liable for:

  • damage to the customer’s vehicle caused by pre‑existing faults, rust, leaks, or structural issues

  • mechanical or electrical failures unrelated to our work

  • loss or damage to the vehicle due to events outside our control (e.g., weather, theft, vandalism)

By booking with us, the customer confirms they have arranged their own insurance cover for the vehicle.

7. Natural Materials & Handmade Variations

Our products are handcrafted. Timber, finishes, and handmade components may have natural variations. These are not considered defects.

8. Safety & Compliance

  • All work is completed to the best of our ability in accordance with relevant Australian standards.

  • The customer is responsible for ensuring their vehicle remains compliant with road laws and ADR requirements after installation.

  • Any modifications to our work by third parties may void warranties and compliance

8B. VASS Engineering Certification

Removable camper pods supplied by Dirty Wombat Camper Company are generally considered non‑permanent fixtures and typically do not require VASS certification.

Certain custom camper conversions may require assessment and approval by a VASS (Vehicle Assessment Signatory Scheme) engineer under Victorian road regulations. Requirements vary depending on the type of modifications, including structural changes, fixed furniture, electrical systems, gas installations, and other permanent alterations.

Dirty Wombat Camper Company does not guarantee that any custom build or modification will meet VASS requirements unless explicitly stated in writing.

The customer acknowledges and agrees that:

  • It is their responsibility to determine whether VASS certification is required for their vehicle and intended use.

  • Dirty Wombat Camper Company can arrange a VASS inspection upon request; however, all VASS fees, engineering costs, and re‑inspection fees are the responsibility of the customer.

  • Where possible, we may design and construct certain elements (such as removable beds or non‑permanent fixtures) in a way that avoids the need for VASS certification, but final compliance responsibility remains with the customer.

  • Dirty Wombat Camper Company is not liable for registration issues, compliance failures, or costs associated with obtaining VASS certification.

  • Any modifications made by the customer or third parties after the build may affect compliance and may require additional VASS assessment.

By proceeding with a custom build, the customer accepts responsibility for ensuring their vehicle remains compliant with all Victorian road laws and engineering requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

  • damage caused by misuse, accidents, or improper installation by third parties

  • damage caused by water ingress due to user error

  • loss of income, travel delays, or incidental expenses

  • damage resulting from pre‑existing vehicle issues

  • indirect, consequential, or special losses of any kind.

Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law.

• structural integrity of cabinetry

• installation of fixtures

This warranty applies only to normal, intended use of the product.

10B. Manufacturer Warranties

Appliances and components (e.g., fridges, pumps, batteries, chargers, inverters) are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, not by us. We will assist with warranty claims where possible, but final decisions rest with the manufacturer.

10C. Licensed Contractors & Specialist Work

Dirty Wombat Camper Company engages qualified, licensed contractors to complete any work that requires formal certification, including but not limited to plumbing, gas fitting, and 240v electrical work.

All such work is carried out by independent contractors who hold their own trade licences, insurances, and legal responsibilities under Australian law.

Accordingly:

  • Certified plumbing, electrical, or gas work is covered under the contractor’s own warranty, not Dirty Wombat Camper Company’s workmanship warranty.

  • Any faults, failures, or issues relating to certified trade work must be directed to the relevant contractor for assessment and repair.

  • Dirty Wombat Camper Company is not liable for delays, costs, or damages arising from contractor‑performed work, except where required under Australian Consumer Law.

  • We will assist in connecting the customer with the contractor if a warranty claim is required.

By proceeding with a build, the customer acknowledges and accepts that specialist trade work is performed by independent licensed professionals.

  • repair the item

  • replace the item

  • or refund the cost of the defective component

We do not cover:

  • travel costs

  • accommodation

  • towing

  • loss of use of the vehicle

These costs are not covered except where required under Australian Consumer Law in the case of a major failure.

10G. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
